How Our Process Works All orders at Magnolia Antique Door Co. are quote-based — no door ships until a quote has been approved and payment confirmed. Once your order is finalized, we prepare your door for shipment, which includes any requested restoration or customization work completed beforehand.
Processing & Lead Times
- Standard orders (no customization): typically ready to ship within 2–4 weeks of payment confirmation
- Custom & restored orders (trimming, pre-hanging, refinishing, etc.): lead time varies based on scope
- If your timeline is urgent, let us know before placing your order and we will do our best to accommodate
How We Ship — Two Methods We use two types of carriers depending on your order. If you have a preference or a specific shipping need, contact us before your order is finalized and we'll accommodate where possible.
Individual Carriers (standard for orders without added services)
Doors purchased without customization or restoration services are typically shipped via individual carriers — dedicated drivers who handle each door personally from pickup to delivery.
- Doors are blanket wrapped and handled by hand throughout transit — no crating required
- Personal, attentive handling from start to finish helps ensure safe, damage-free delivery
- Carriers typically contact you one day before delivery to give you a heads-up
- Delivery may sometimes occur on evenings or weekends depending on the carrier's route
- If you require a scheduled appointment window or cannot accommodate flexible delivery timing, please request freight shipping instead (see below)
Freight Carriers (standard for orders with added services)
Orders that include customization, restoration, or pre-hanging services are typically shipped via freight carrier.
- Doors are crated and palletized for freight transit
- Freight carriers operate on standard business-day schedules and can accommodate scheduled delivery appointments
- Delivery is curbside by default — the driver is not obligated to bring the door inside
- You will receive tracking information once your shipment is in transit
Freight travel for both methods typically takes 8–12 business days after your door leaves our facility, with a total estimated time from order confirmation to delivery of 4–8 weeks depending on services and destination.
Delivery — What to Expect Regardless of carrier type, please plan accordingly:
- Have help available: doors can weigh 60–200+ lbs depending on type
- Be present to receive: someone must be available to accept and sign for the shipment
- Inspect before signing: examine your door for any visible damage before the driver leaves and note anything on the delivery receipt — this is essential for any damage claim
Shipping Coverage We ship throughout the continental United States on all items. Certain oversized or heavy items (such as large iron door pairs) may carry additional freight surcharges, which will be disclosed in your quote. Please contact us directly for shipping quotes to Alaska, Hawaii, or internationally.
Freight Damage Claims If your door arrives damaged:
- Note the damage on the delivery receipt before the driver leaves — this step is critical
- Photograph the packaging and the door thoroughly before moving anything
- Contact us within 48 hours of delivery
- Do not discard any packaging materials until the claim is resolved
Damage reported after 48 hours or without documentation at delivery may not be eligible for a claim.
